Props Research & List

Here is a list of props we will be using in our short film, we will use objects as closely similar as possible.

Alarm Clock

The purpose of the alarm clock is to show the time of which Dave wakes up in the morning, I chose this image because the alarm is fairly bland, which accurately represents Dave's life. The lack of color in the clock shows how his life is boring.

Kettle & Mug

Like the alarm clock this kettle and mug lacks color, used in the office it again reinforces the dullness of Dave's life.

Keys

Dave grabs his keys out of his house, to display his high level of responsibility we should have lots of keys on his keyring, this way the audience get a feel for how messy and unorganised his life is.

Wallet

Like the keys, having his wallet appearing "busy" with receipts and cards, and everything but money will make him look like a busy man leading a clustered life, of which he cannot keep up with. Black also represents formality and professionalism.

Office Chair

And conclusively, the office chair follows the theme of monochrome we have been aiming for amongst other props. Reinforcing his professionalism and his rather bland life.

Below is a formal list of character ownership of props by scene:

We will use this to know what to bring to each shooting session.

After deciding upon our props, we will now move on to make an animatic, in order to get a clear visual idea of the order of our story and what it will visually look like.
